My Advice About Hair Cuts

I have learned a valuable lesson, I think. I now think it is a good idea to take your 16-year-old son to the barber/salon to get his hair cut instead of having one of his parents cut it. This is especially valuable if it is the day before school. We have had a tense couple of days as Alan cut Cheney's hair and it went shorter and shorter and shorter. 16 year-old boys (at least in my house) tend to be sensitive about how they are going to look on the first day of school. At this point, the money saved was not worth the pain and suffering felt by all.

I am imagining a much younger Cheney with very short hair (kind of like Alan's used to be). Not too many 16 year old boys out there with hair that short. Hmmm... guess the bright side is that it will grow. It was nice having a built-in barber while Kathy was here. Now I take them to the barber in Webster.

Cheney is now wearing his hair quite long, but was heading back to school and we needed to have it half way up his ears, etc. Things just did not go well to say the least. His hair is now very much like you remember it. He is just much taller.

I always imagine your kids younger, too, like they were when I left. Everytime I see Nathan, it just makes surprises me to see him looking like a man.

Every time I see Bethany (mine) it surprises me.

Martha, I bet seeing Bethany does surprise you! It is weird enough to see the engagement ring on Ashleigh's finger and think about the wedding, but to see a little baby belly.... wow!

I just took my Allen to get his haircut tonight. He's 12.

Brian, when he decides to cut it (which is far less than I would prefer), goes to a salon to get it done. I occassionally braved bangs for the girls and two other disasterous hair cuts with my kids. So, I have always spent the bucks. Of course now my older ones pay for their own...
