13 Things about Alan Scott

I am just not feeling very creative, so I will blog 13 things about my husband, Alan. He will be excited about that, since he did not feel I wrote enough about him in my 100 things.

1. Alan met me when he was 9 or 10. (Of course he loved me immediately.) Okay, he doesn't admit to that, but I am sure it is true. Someone on the bus told me that.

2. Alan has one sister and one brother. He looks very much like his brother, but I tell people you can tell them apart because Alan is the much better looking one. My brother-in-law loves this.

3. Alan is a very devoted father and has been from the minute he laid eyes on Ashleigh.

4. Alan loves all of our kids to be here.

5. Alan used to be a computer nerd. (Well, he still is, but it's not his job anymore.)

6. Alan played football in high school. I always went to the games, but didn't pay real close attention. On the other hand, he could tell me exactly where I was during the game. Freaky!

7. Alan dragged me out of a car after we were in a very bad car accident on our first car date. Unfortunately, he dragged me into a briar patch.

8. Alan has blonde hair.

9. Alan is a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and is a great example to his family.

10. Alan doesn't need a lot of people around him.

11. Alan started a forrest fire when he was in boy scouts.

12. Alan told his grandmother that he would never get married and even signed a paper stating that very thing. She never let him forget it.

13. Alan has been my husband for 22 years.

I had heard about the accident but not about the briar patch. Reminds me of Brer Rabbit...

14. Alan can be intimidating, but he never scared my Bethany. She was used to her own father.

You are right. Alan can be intimidating, which I have used on occassion to my advantage when dealing with difficult people. Bethany never was scared. That is funny. I think it is a little bit nice to have a dad who can be intimidating.

15. He has kissed a pig.

I guess my husband is a computer nerd! He works with 'puters...
And he doesn't like being around a lot of people! He can't stand a lot of noise or crowds. Sometimes I like that and sometimes I don't.

And sounds like Martha's addition might have a story behind it?! Do tell!

Martha - I have now kissed a pig as well! Not fun. My little Sparkies betrayed me big time.

Shelly - there is not really much of a story behind the intimidation. Alan just has an intimidating presence and a lot of people don't know how to take him. He is really just soft as can be.

Maybe Shelly wanted to know about the pig kissing. It was one of those AWANA things to get the kids excited.

Oh you are right. Sorry about that Shelly. The pig story is just as Martha has said. I believe she was there and witnessed the whole thing.

Too bad you didn't get a picture! haha!

I think there is a picture out there somewhere. When I kissed the pig last year, it was videotaped and then showed in church. Very proud day for me.

Did you kiss him on the top of his scruffy head like Alan did? I only saw the event once, think I missed it the first time. I can almost see him wiping his mouth with his hand afterward. The kids loved it!

Martha, I think I did kiss the top of his head and he was a little pig, so it wasn't to gross. Apparently I was a bit too quick, though, as received a bit of backlash concerning did I really even kiss the pig?? Whatever! I did not know there were rules about how long the kiss had to be. Yikes!

I always liked the forest fire story!

Bethany, the one where Alan said " and we ran and we ran and we ran and we ran......". Were you there that night???
