Where to Find the Perfect Dress?

Well, as the mother-of-the-bride, I have been asked repeatedly if I have gotten my dress for the wedding yet. I have not because, as you know, I have a boy in a body cast and therefore I do not get out very much. Well, today (since the wedding is about 5 weeks away), my daughter Bethany and I went and started the hunt. I went to Macy's and tried on several dresses. Several had good points to them, but of course, this dress must make me look young and thing. I realize I am no longer either of these things, so I may be expecting a lot out of a dress, but hey, shouldn't I try?? So, we had no luck today with the MOB dress, but I will press on and if Davin is out of his cast on Wed. (possibly) then I will make it one of my top priorities! At least until I have other priorities....

You may edit your post and press publish again. Its okay, I do it all the time.

Ahh, yes, the MOB/MOG dress! (I've done both.)My suggestion? Buy something you can wear to church or out to a party later. Why pay for a dress you'll only wear once?

And the tables... We had pine boughs (from a local florist, they ordered us a bundle), miniature roses, and Bethany wanted floating candles. Oh yes, and snowflake spangles. The favors were red and green Christmas M n M's. (They went well with the last name.) Holly sounds nice too.

Teehee! I knew what you meant but it gave me a chuckle all the same!! :) Is everyone getting really excited about the big day???

Shelly, I am finding myself being less excited as it is getting closer. Now I am getting sad?, emotional?, I don't know what. Tonight they are putting up the Christmas decorations at church and that will be a big reminder that it is right around the corner since those decorations will still be up for the wedding!

Sooo, basic little black dress is out? that was really a giggle!! I can't even get serious about this dress, sorry. Who is going to remember your dress? Won't the bride be the focus?

What is with Blogger? It's not just me it is posting twice! That was me deleting the second identical comment.

Yes, the bride will be the focus, but still. I have never worn such a fancy dress and I want to look nice and be comfortable. Plus, we will have a zillion pictures of me in that dress, so it would be nice if I liked it. I guess this is what happens when you are housebound for 7 weeks. You start to become obsessed with finding a MOB dress.

Well if you are going to be a fasionista and imortalized in pictures, lets get to getting that dress!! Prince cut, sweetheart neckline, makes waist look small and draws attention to face and smile. So long sleeve or short? Hum... how about short and with a wrap. There, go get it! :)

I know!!!! I just went through this last spring! So many of those dresses are so dowdy! In the end I found one on sale at Younkers. (Is that how it's spelled?) Unfortunately, I discovered laster that since the brides' mom had a long dress, I should also wear a long dress. Now, the joke is that I ALWAYS wear a long dress, so a shorter one made me feel more "dressed up" weirdly. Anyway, it really didn't matter. Good luck!
