First Day of School
Yesterday was the first day of school for both Cheney and Davin. Things seemed to go very well. Davin was a bit nervous and with good reason. This year, he is over in the high school wing of his school, he has a new teacher and he does not have his aide anymore. He has a new one. (Sobbing, sobbing) The sobbing is from me because I get so attached to the aides. It is like we have joint custody and I trust them to care for Davin for half of the day. Miss B had been with us for three years and she did such an excellent job with Davin and he ADORED her. I'm sure his new aide will be great, too, but it is a time of adjustment.
This year Cheney is president of his senior class, so he is already busy with meetings and things. I think he is excited about all of the activities he is involved with this year.
On a side note, did you all watch Sarah Palin last night? Did you see little Piper (her daughter) holding Sarah's youngest son? Oh my goodness. It was adorable enough when she was just holding him, but then she started smoothing his hair down and when that wasn't enough, she licked her hand and then smoothed his hair down some more. It was adorable!!!

So, I got a picture on here all by myself. Does anyone know how to turn it so that the boys are not sideways:)
You could have Cheney lay on the carpet holding Davin, take the picture the same way, then they'd be upright for the picture.
Seriously, I have no idea how to move the picture around, but it's a nice picture. Just turn the monitor on its side and it looks just fine.
I watched the speech last night. Piper Palin is a camera ham - she was on stage waving, like she was one being nominated Too cute.
I don't know how to do it on your computer but on mine I do. Check your "forDavin" email.
We watched Sarah Palin too. I laughed when Piper licked her hand and smoothed the baby's hair. (She's gonna be a great mommy some day.)
Oh my goodness...I have so many comments!
1) Now Cheney really looks like Alan with his new haircut! And , WOW, such a huge responsibility as class president, but Cheney has the perfect personality for the job!
2) I hope you get to know his new aide quickly. I know I get nervous too when the girls get a teacher I don't know, and then at the end of the year I look back and I'm so pleased with who the Lord placed them with. Are you able to go into school and spend some time with her?
3) YES, I loved watching that little Piper!! She was so adorable! I am so happy the camera caught that, I was so touched by that, I let out alittle chuckle... And then, when she got on stage and kept waving...way too cute. Their baby was adorable as well, but I did wonder how all the clapping was affecting his little ears! I just love that Sarah Palin, she touches my heart. I think we can all relate to her as moms.
Gotta run... I'm off to the the ortho Dr. for Jonathon's arm.
Your guys look great!
I watched most of last night's speech and I thought Sara Palin was great! I missed the hand licking, hair smoothing incident...probably because I was doing something else at the same time. What a beautiful family though!
Yes, I did enjoy the big waving as well. I think the camera will be on Piper quite a bit. She is so funny! Rachel, I'm sorry you missed the hand-licking. It was the best! I even got to see it replayed today:)
Martha, thank you. I am going to try to fix it.
Mel, thank you for being willing to adjust your computer so that my picture will look right side up:) That is true friendship.
Michelle, I hope you made out good at the ortho. Did he get his cast off?? We love our ortho.
Oh my goodness!!! Really!!! How is my picture now? I have to go wait for the bus. Be back later.
OK, now there is a file name instead of a picture. It's a nice file name, but the picture was better. ;=)
You'll figure it out!
So, all of Heather's friends - doesn't she TOTALLY look like Sarah Palin? If you could compare the picture of Heather at Ashleigh's wedding with SP yesterday, you'd see what I mean!
(I'm smiling...)
I guess you might neeed to save the image to your computer and then upload it. Save it to "My Pictures" or something. (We'll figure it out eventually.)
I was thinking Christine, the Christine who adopted Dennis, reminded me of Sarah Palin, but I guess Heather might just a little bit too. At any rate, they are all beautiful.
Yeah!!! I really am a computer whiz!
I saw it and loved it! GO Palin!
Oh, and I hope your boys enjoy school. I know one of mine still isn't.
Christine, he will....eventually.
I have to agree with both Melanie and Martha. Put Heather and Christine together, and you would have another SP!
Oh my word! Miss Melanie, I too thought of Heather when I saw Sarah Palin on the other night! They could so be sisters!
And Cheney is HUGE! And looks JUST like Mr. H!
Bethany, Cheney has heard that once or twice:) It is so funny to see Cheney at this age since I knew Alan so well when he was 17 and Cheney is so much like him.
Good luck to your handsome boys with school!
And that little Piper, I just wanted to jump thru the TV and squeeze her. She is about the cutest kid ever...next to Trig of course. :)
One looks pretty excited and one not so much?
