A Washing Machine is a Beautiful Thing - especially if it is in your own house!

Since school has started back up, I am dedicated to working for our small construction company three mornings a week. Last year, this totally overwhelmed me. I could never get anything done in the house, it seemed and I wasn't caught up in my work, either. Thinking back to last year, I realized that for about 7 months, I guess, I did not have a functioning washing machine at my house. I would cart my laundry over to my wonderful sister's house (whom I am SO thankful for - she let me use her washing machine and NEVER made it seem like an inconvenience!) and that took me a couple of days a week to do that. Also, I was picking Davin up two days a week and taking him to PT. Before that, I had been taking him to speech two times a week for the last couple of years. This year, Davin is not attending extra therapy outside of school AND I have a washing machine that works beautifully and the best thing is, it's right in my house!!!! My stress level with working is SO much less because other things in my life are not quite as demanding of my time.

Love, love, love your new colors!
And I am so glad you have a washing machine. In the past 7mos. you have never mentioned you were w/o a washing machine, and you never complained that i can remember! (at least not to us anyway!) Why were you w/o for so long?

Different reasons, really. (and I think I did complain a couple of times:( We had a major septic problem that we thought was permanent and we would need a new septic that costs a lot of money. Then, all of the sudden, God fixed it and we didn't have a problem anymore. Then, there was another problem and Alan had to dig a new drain system for our washer alone, I think. Anyway, I always liked going over to Jen's. It was like my second home. I would go over and do little tasks that I needed to do while I was there, but doing laundry outside of your home sure does take a lot of time!

Thank you for loving my new colors. I love them, too.

Okay, I'm supposed to be working in the mornings while Emery is at school, but have yet to be successful because I'm so distracted AND my house is STILL a mess! I do have a washing machine...so, any advice?

Thanks for visiting my blog today too! :)

You forgot to mention that you were also planning your eldest daughter's wedding. Not that wedding planning is stressful or anything...

It doesn't seem to matter whether or not I have a washing machine in my house, or that I don't work outside the home, I just can't seem to get it all together and keep it that way. (I think it's time for a cup of coffee. And I have a batch of blackberry jam waiting to be cooked. Ugh!)

I like your colors and your profile pic. I cart my laundry, because it is too expensive to wash where I live. I could appreciate being able to do it at home too. I am glad things are looking up. By the way I am tagging you! The instructions are on my blog.

Yeah, and last year you were supporting me through some serious issues - you sure had a lot going on!

The last time I was single, most of the time I'd bring my laundry over to my parent's house. I'd get my laundry done, and a free meal or two. This is when gas was $1 a gallon so I ended up making money on the deal. LOL!

I'm so thankful to have a washer & dryer in my condo. When I was in junior high, the laundry room was in another building, and we had to buy tokens that broke half the time. We ended up finding a nice laundromat and hanging out there.

It does feel good to take pleasure in the "little" things that aren't so little when you don't have them. Aren't we blessed!

Oh, how nice for you to be able to do laundry at home again. I don't like going down two flights of stairs to our laundry area and always wish for a laundry shoot but I am thankful that I have clothes to wash and I don't have to walk miles to the river to do my laundry. We don't realize how spoiled we are.

We (I) do take some things for granted until we're without. I've always been blessed to have a w/d in my home, even my first year out of school when the trailer I rented had one. Of course it was tiny, and the washer had to be hooked up to the sink and drained into the tub... but it worked!
